Weekend Update: Last Call

"I'm in some hellish hold world of holding." - Josh Lyman

I don't have much to say today, so let's get right to the updates.

Fundraising - We received a few more donations over the weekend, but we are still a bit short of the goal amount of $7,030. Don't forget, if you donate online make sure to enter the funds into the "Cancer Research" box, and indicate you are making the donation in my honor. It makes it much easier to track on the back end. If you are old-fashioned and would like to write a check, put my name in the memo line and mail it to Conquer Cancer Foundation, 2318 Mill Rd. Suite 800, Alexandria VA. Thanks for all the support so far, let's push it over the top!

Training - I felt pretty good during my workouts last week, but I'm dealing with a little soreness in my quads. I hope it will work itself out this week, and I'll probably slip into a couple more ice-baths to help it along. For those of you who don't know the glory of ice-baths, they really are pretty fantastic once you get accustomed to them. I did a lot of short, fast workouts last week, and some medium distance stuff over the weekend. For the next few days I'll take it pretty easy, but try to squeeze in some pool time every morning just to stay on a good schedule.

Racing - I'm in full-on planning mode for the upcoming weekend. I received my athlete's guide the other day, and I've been checking the water temperature and weather every hour. I've already mapped out the driving route, including Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives I want to stop at along the way. And in other racing news, Bop got a new bike! Pretty soon she'll be zipping around in he Felt ZW75. First, she's got to master the clip-in pedals. But after she tips over a few times, (I've done it at least thrice) she'll be ready to CRUSH the Nation's Course next month.
